Great place to shop for furniture. Great range, nothing cheap but you pay for quality I guess. Very friendly staff. Not in your face chasing you.... Available when you need them.
We bought a bed and two sofas from this company; sales staff were lovely, the range of furniture in-store was great. Sadly one of the sofas was delivered with an extremely soft sponge on the seats, the other sofa had the hard sponge that we had ordered. Each night when I sat on the sofa I swore I would remember to call them. Finally severe back ache, aware that the sofa was past its one year warranty, and as a last stop before taking the sofa to the tip, I did call them. I was told by 'customer service' that as the sofa was out of warranty, I would have to pay 60 for a 'Homeserve' technician, who would visit my property and repair the sofa. 60 seemed worth if it the sofa would then become useable again. The Homeserve technician's visit today seemed only motivated to prove they had no liability whatsoever and that there was 'nothing they could do.' The soft sponge was down to 'normal wear and tear.' So a wasted morning waiting in for the technician and 60 down the drain, on top of a sofa only fit for the tip after 2 years. When I asked the technician whether there were ever grounds for repair or if he just drove around all day telling people their problems would not be addressed because of 'normal wear and tear' he could not answer. The only suggestion he could make was that I should call AHF and ask to pay myself for the chaise part of my sofa to be replaced with a hard, three seater cushion. I would urge AHF not to use the services of this jobsworth company. I then called AHF in Gloucester to let them know how unhappy I was that they had recommended calling out Homeserve, when I had told them the problem was an (according to Homeserve) 'wear and tear' issue with my sofa, and thus not fixable, and the operator simply repeated, two times, that I should wait for a call back from their customer service department. She did not seem to understand that I was offering to PAY FOR a new three-seater sponge, would have liked to have found out if this was possible and how much it might cost - presumably because it is 'not her job.' Meanwhile I don't know if I should take the sofa to the tip this weekend or wait until Monday to hear more about how 'there's nothing we can do' from another customer service representative. Basically feel that they can be lovely and pleasant in the show room but once they have your money, there will just be 'nothing they can do.'
A true one stop furniture shop, very helpful assistant, will certainly be going back there again
