I have nothing but praise and admiration for all the staff at the Winfield Hospital for the care and devotion to their patients that they showed to me on my visit for a successful knee operation.My consultant surgeon, Mr. Atwal, had told me he would do a good job (and he was true to his word), and he needed me to play my part with the exercises and physio.From pre-assessment to Physiotherapy they treated me with dignity and respect. My operation being performed six weeks ago is giving me greater mobility , confidence and significantly less pain. Many thanks to all.

Following a consultant appointment I contacted the medical secretary and I was given a price of about 4500 and a date of 7th November for an operation. The price was confirmed in writing. A few days later, after I had started making plans, I was contacted and told the consultant wanted to do the operation at a different hospital. It was not that simple as I am self funding and there was about 2,500 difference in price. After multiple calls chasing it was established that the original price was incorrectly quoted and should be about 6500.The disappointment is how it has been dealt with. It took days to get to this point. They failed at first to notice the mistake, they passed incorrect information on to the other hospital, they were hard to get hold of by phone, didn't always respond to messages left, failed to stick to time scales they had set and gave inconsistent reasons for the mistake. I now have to make further arrangements borrow extra money and change child care arrangements. Most importantly I was looking at an operation date at the other hospital of 11th December. All of this has caused me inconvenience, distress and anxiety.
