We spent half day with a treatment and lunch. The staff were very friendly, the treatments were lovely and felt very relaxed, unfortunately the food has let it down giving 5 stars. The service was very slow and unorganized with the food being very standard. I would how ever return for the spa and treatments.
Great place to spend sometime away from the routine surrounded by fields to hike and nice gardens, it has also has a spa to relax and treat yourself, perfect for a weekend away or a present!
A gorgeous Elizabethan manor house and stunning grounds. Just 5 minutes from Cheltenham. As a wedding photographer I was so excited to arrive and see this perfect wedding venue!
Lovely hotel and food was marvellous and unrushed. Room had character and was clean. Spa was of a high standard and well managed. Would recommend. But a couple of things were annoying. Our plan was to use the spa after checkout after dinner the night before. But we were told that we only had use of the spa from check in to check out. Nowhere anywhere in our booking explained this and weve never stayed in a hotel where this has been a thing. It would have totally ruined our break but the receptionist allowed us complimentary access. This information must be clearly communicated upfront. Secondly we had a supplemental charge on our bill. We knew there would be because we ordered some courses off the deal menu but it was significantly higher than it should have been. They also added a 10% service charge to an order of two gin and tonics in the afternoon (1.70) which was ludicrous. But again the receptionist adjusted the supplement and removed the silly service charge without any further ado. They need to be clearer on their charges and terms. Beyond this would very much recommend just check your itinerary with them and check your bill. Also our bed was massive and very comfortable.
This is a beautiful place to visit. The hotel is excellent, the rooms all very spacious and well presented. The staff were very good. The food tasted wonderful, though here also lies my only negative comment. There was very little substance to the main. It was an acceptable portion of meat, no complaints there, but the accompanying vegetables provided not much more than a few mouthfuls. The portions were more suited to a 5 course meal, not 3 and so I was left still hungry at the end.However in terms of quality it was excellent.The spa was also excellent. Facilities included: a generous sized indoor pool with powerful spray taps, a gym, a hot tub, sauna and steam room. All of which looked fresh and we'll maintained.
