A rustic rural retreat in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside we received a lovely welcome from Thomas and Sophie. Close to lovely walks along the River Severn Estuary is a lovely pub offering great food within a short walking distance.
Very rural and lovely farm site. No hassle, you are just left to it, but the owner is friendly. Great for walking with trails along the wide river Severn and a great pub that serves food just a short walk away. The nearest supermarket is 25 minutes drive away, so stock up for your stay. This wasn't really a problem if you have a caravan or motorhome with a fridge. Ideal really. We shall definitely be returning.
What a lovely time we had at West End Farm, it was so nice to get away from it all and just relax. Tom and Mike are great guys and we met some lovely people on site. Our daughter absolutely loved her time there playing along with the other children she met. Toilets and showers were always clean and well maintained. Would highly recommend to any other like minded people who truly want a break from it all. Can't wait to go back!!!! . " Craig, Charlie and Wren"
Was supposed to be staying for 3 nights but wasn't impressed. The site isn't manned and seemed to be a bit of a free for all, there was no space at the tent spot with electric, probably because a camper van had blocked it. The grass elsewhere was very rough and too long, immediately the children were moaning about it. We checked out the toilet / shower shed, which gave the children even more things to complain about since there was no toilet paper, the lights turned themselves off, and one of the doors popped open (it was a bit warped and the child was reluctant to put the lock across incase of getting shut in). To be honest, the three available shower rooms seemed nice enough and were clean. Since there didn't appear to be any clear way down to the river and it couldn't even be seen from the site, by being surrounded by the working farm, it felt restrictive and claustrophobic. Definitely not a site for children. I expect if I was on my own, or with dogs, then this place would be ideal. I do not recommend this place for big tents or children. Unfortunately, due to no phone signal, I wasn't able to contact the owner at the time, but by then the children had already decided that weren't happy to stay there. So we went home. I did email the site but am yet to get a reply.
